Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) has partnered with the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT)’s Employer Council to develop and launch an employer survey to capture information about employer-based commute programs. Our goal is to provide insights into current and emerging employer program trends and to be a resource for employers as they develop and implement their own work place transportation programs.

The survey was designed with the help and input provided by TDM professionals from across the country in order to collect information that is most relevant to employers and key stakeholders.

  • Employer motivations for the commuter program
  • Commuter program structure
  • Services in place – carpool, vanpool, transit, shuttles, bicycle, telework, etc.
  • Parking management
  • Emergency Ride Home program
  • Relative benefits realized
  • Financial incentives by mode
  • Response to changes to qualified transportation fringe benefits
  • Current marketing strategies
  • Performance metrics
  • 10 year outlook for scenarios that may impact their programs

The survey is closed now.  Results should be available this fall.  Published results will not include specific employer information but general programmatic themes, strategies, and insights will be identified.  If you have questions about the survey, please contact Phil Winters at

  1. Do you have any results of this survey? I am looking for performance measures and metrics for our TDM program. We work with employers and recommend TDM solutions for major developments.
